Post Dealing with Percentages under 1% for Pie Charts
Hello, I have just started to use pCharts and I ran across an issue that I was going to see if anybody had a suggestion to. I was trying to create a pie chart and noticed that if my results had slices that were under 1% of the pie, that they all ran together and the labels that were created overlapped each other. The total number of slices I had for this chart were 20, and what ended up happening was that i had about 3 slices that had slices that were over 1%, but the concentration of the slices was percentages under 1%. I was just trying to see if there was a solution for this problem. Thanks for any suggestions that you may have.

i was just adding this reply to also include my image that is being created for this issue, I was not sure if this would help clear up what I was referring to.

Hi

I've modified the pie chart label support already (this will be included in the next sub release). You can also try to play with the DataGapAngle and DataGapRadius parameters.

so in regards the modifications that you were making, will it fix the issue that I am having and if so, do you know when the next sub release will be out. I also noticed on the label at the top, it only shows the first 8, do you know if that is a limitation in regards to the number it will show, if i need at least 20. I think there my have been another post on that. I will take a look. Thanks for your help. So far with just starting out with this library, i really enjoy it.

You get a similar problem when using the values on the pie chart, see below.

Will your new positioning allow you to set the labels on the outside of the pie?

You can do this already--just add 'ValuePosition' => PIE_VALUE_OUTSIDE to your Format array for draw3DPie(). (Or draw2D, whichever.)

Edit: Just saw the date of your post. s/already/now. :)
